Mitt Biden?

Like Mr. Obama's reform, RomneyCare was predicated on the illusion that insurance would be less expensive if everyone were covered. Even if this theory were plausible, it is not true in Massachusetts today. So as costs continue to climb, Mr. Romney's Democratic successor now wants to create a central board of political appointees to decide how much doctors and hospitals should be paid for thousands of services.

The Romney camp blames all this on a failure of execution, not of design. But by this cause-and-effect standard, Mr. Romney could push someone out of an airplane and blame the ground for killing him. Once government takes on the direct or implicit liability of paying for health care for everyone, the only way to afford it is through raw political control of all medical decisions.

Mr. Romney's refusal to appreciate this, then and now, reveals a troubling failure of political understanding and principle. The raucous national debate over health care isn't about this or that technocratic detail, but about basic differences over the role of government. In the current debate over Medicare, Paul Ryan wants to reduce costs by encouraging private competition while Mr. Obama wants the cost-cutting done by a body of unelected experts like the one emerging in Massachusetts.

Joy Behar may be one of the stupidest people alive

Hey Michael Moore - eat shit

Out of the mouths of babes....
Seven-year-olds can't understand what Islamic terrorism is all about. But they know when an adult's face is telling them something is wrong — and none of the students sitting in Sandra Kay Daniels' class at Emma E. Booker Elementary School that morning can forget the devastating change in Bush's expression when White House chief of staff Andrew Card whispered the terrible news of the al-Qaeda attack. Lazaro Dubrocq's heart started racing because he assumed they were all in trouble — with no less than the Commander in Chief — but he wasn't sure why. "In a heartbeat, he leaned back and he looked flabbergasted, shocked, horrified," recalls Dubrocq, now 17. "I was baffled. I mean, did we read something wrong? Was he mad or disappointed in us?"

One thing the students would like to tell Bush's critics — like liberal filmmaker Michael Moore, whose 2004 documentary Fahrenheit 911 disparaged Bush for lingering almost 10 minutes with the students after getting word that two planes had crashed into the World Trade Center — is that they think the President did the right thing. "I think he was trying to keep everybody calm, starting with us," says Guerrero. Dubrocq agrees: "I think he was trying to protect us." Booker Principal Gwendolyn Tose-Rigell, who died in 2007, later insisted, "I don't think anyone could have handled it better. What would it have served if [Bush] had jumped out of his chair and ran out of the room?"

The days of future passed - remembering earth day

A few of the choice highlights taken from I hate the media
“We are in an environmental crisis which threatens the survival of this nation, and of the world as a suitable place of human habitation.”
• Barry Commoner, Washington University biologist
“At the present rate of nitrogen buildup, it’s only a matter of time before light will be filtered out of the atmosphere and none of our land will be usable.”
• Kenneth Watt, Ecologist
“Dr. S. Dillon Ripley, secretary of the Smithsonian Institute, believes that in 25 years, somewhere between 75 and 80 percent of all the species of living animals will be extinct.”
• Sen. Gaylord Nelson
“We have about five more years at the outside to do something.”
• Kenneth Watt, ecologist
“The world has been chilling sharply for about twenty years. If present trends continue, the world will be about four degrees colder for the global mean temperature in 1990, but eleven degrees colder in the year 2000. This is about twice what it would take to put us into an ice age.”
• Kenneth Watt, Ecologist
 Same shit, different day....

So who said it?

“That’s not part of his power, but this is part of the whole theory of George Bush that he can make laws as he goes along,” Obama said. “I disagree with that. I taught the Constitution for 10 years. I believe in the Constitution, and I will obey the Constitution of the United States. We’re not going to use signing statements as a way of doing an end-run around Congress.”
http://thehill.com/homenews/administration/156465-white-house-defends-obama-use-of-signing-statements-as-entirely-consistent

Yeah ok the iWon said it and he meant it then. Signing statements are only bad if Republican Presidents named Bush use them, otherwise the use of signing statements is fully constitutional.

Let me get this straight?

So Obama thinks I need to prove my identity to use the internet but don't need to show ID to vote?

WTF?

And now he proposes forcing us to adopt a national internet identity scheme where everyone will be in a central registry? Oh yeah baby what could go wrong with that?

While I'm on the topic of the almost terminally stupid

the stupid, it burns....

It is interesting to see that commie shill Andrea Mitchell and Feinstein, both of whom have rattled off the "illegal war" in Iraq canard, suddenly talk about how we "declared war" on Iraq. Which is also untrue..we haven't declared war on anyone in decades....

ahh the stupid it burns....

The silver lining

I know that I'm glad that the country is in such great hands. I'll bet that every unemployed & underemployed person in the US is fucking ecstatic that our CO2 emissions are down.

Of course we all know Clair's emissions aren't down, but she did have to pay the back taxes on her private aircraft....once she got caught...taxes are for the little people, so are carbon limits. So as you freeze and starve to death in the dark take heart that people like Clair can still see that silver lining.

Oh the irony!

Leadership

As seen on Drudge this morning:
- Tensions with Britain as Gates rebukes UK government over suggestion Gaddafi could be assassinated
- French propose a new political ‘committee’ to oversee operations
- Germany pulls equipment out of NATO coalition over disagreement over campaign’s direction
- Italians accuse French of backing NATO in exchange for oil contracts
- No-fly zone called into question after first wave of strikes ‘neutralises’ Libyan military machine
- U.K. ministers say war could last ’30 years’
- Italy to ‘take back control’ of bases used by allies unless NATO leadership put in charge of the mission
- Russians tell U.S. to stop bombing in order to protect civilians – calls bombing a ‘crusade’
The vacationer in chief and his teleprompter are busy voting present on this subject. Once again we see how his community agitator roots play out in the Presidency, he agitated, then walked away because leading is actually hard work. You have to do those "D" word things like decide or do. How uncomfortable that must be for someone who apparently thought that being President was the political equivalent of "American Idol" without all that pesky singing and stuff. Community agitators just agitate, they don't actually do anything themselves, they produce nothing more than tension and chaos. They're consultants who tell others what they should be doing and then walk away without getting their tender hands dirty. Can't interrupt the old golf game or my taxpayer paid vacation to bask in the adoration of the mobs of the 3rd world.

There's an old saying "Never do an enemy a small hurt" or perhaps "If you strike the king, you must kill him". Sage advice. Unless you're a Democrat. Or an idiot, but I repeat myself.

Obama's lack of leadership is almost criminal. In that leadership vacuum we see just how decisive the Europeans are, which is not at all. Behind the very thin veneer of civility in the EU lie the old grudges. Could this break up NATO? Possible but not likely, but it certainly doesn't bode well for future cooperation within the alliance. Meanwhile Qaddafi now has a new grudge of his own to nurse against the west. How long before it starts raining airliners again?

It's amateur hour in the White House and the President is busy playing tourist. Meanwhile the world burns. I've seen more leadership in a pack of girl scouts. No doubt he'll be heading back to Norway soon for another Nobel.

Sure Joe

This embarrassing idiot is Vice President of the US.

So go for it Joe, impeach your President.

The new media meets the new civility

The thugs in Wisconsin aren't going to go down without a fight, and their idea of a fight is hate, violence and intimidation. Democracy in action left wing union style. Check it out:
This isn't a one way fight any more. We will take it from the internet right to 2114Chamberlain Avenue. Do you have any idea where you live? Let us spell it out for you.We understand that you like to eat on the square. You like the Baked Potato at the OldFashioned, do you? There were five of us in there last Tuesday. You like to eat atFresco? We're in the Overture eating, serving, cooking, playing, and performing. Atleast twenty of us have worked for Food Fight. You like to fucking drink at FAIR TRADEdo you? At FAIR TRADE? You are citizen-BANNED from Fair Trade. We will Walker youstraight out of the place whenever you show up. We are at every coffee shop on State, open to close, all the time. We will hang up wanted posters of you everywhere you liketo go. We will picket on public property as close to your house as we can every day.We will harrass the ever loving shit out of you all the time. Campus is OCCUPIED. Statestreet is OCCUPIED. The Square is OCCUPIED. Vilas, Schenk's Corners, Atwood, WillyStreet – Occupied, Occupied, Occupied, Occupied. Did you really think it was all aboutthe Capitol? Fuck the Capitol, we are the CITY.

I don't think I've ever seen a better argument for the disbanding of public unions. We've allowed a culture of entitlement to run amok for far too long. This reads like the tantrum of a 4 year old.

The shame...

Three questions for you.
  1. Do you think of Republicans and the Tea Party as dangerous, violent extremists?
  2. Do you think the Wisconsin protests over GOP Governor Scott Walker's move to strip public sector employees of collective bargaining were peaceful?
  3. Do you scoff at the right wing notion that mainstream media like the New York Times, the TV networks and NPR have a liberal media bias against the conservatives?
If you answered 'yes' to all three of those questions, then let me ask you one more...
Why isn't the mainstream media talking about the death threats against Republican politicians in Wisconsin?

ding ding ding ding ding! we have a winner!

published at a most unlikely source, the Huff post...
